Read this passage from page 116 (US Edition) of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows:

"'There's the silver lining I've been hoping for,' [Ginny] whispered, and then she was kissing him as she had never kissed him before, and Harry was kissing her back, and it was blissful oblivion, better than firewhisky; she was the only real thing in the world, Ginny, the feel of her, one hand at her back and one in her long, sweet-smelling hair -- "
--Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

I had assumed she was offering herself as a sort of birthday gift, since she didn't know what to get him. But none of my friends agree with me, they keep pushing it's a children's book. I mean it's not like anything explicit was said, but that's what I thought of when I read that passage. Maybe, I just have a dirty mind? Also, during that "happy hour spent by the lake" in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Rowling has no problem describing kissing scenes, so what were they doing that she had to just mention it in passing? Come on, people get killed, people curse (foul language and foul spells), you think everyone in this children's book is all uptight and proper? Hell no!

I think it was hinted at that the Molly and Arthur Weasley were having premarital sex even. Just read between the lines. Tell me if you guys find anything else and if and why you disagree. At the very least I think it's safe to assume that the two have done more than just kissing.

The scene between Harry and Ginny kissing? Having sex? Possible. I thought there was maybe some intimacy going on there but I don't know if they went any further than a passionate kiss.

I think there was a hint that Molly and Arthur Weasley were doing that. I remember reading some part of the book and I was like "Are they doing what I think they're doing? O.O"

I don't know you very well Danillo so I wouldn't say you have a dirty mind, but an open mind.

I was suggesting that perhaps Ginny wanted to have sex with him (and vice versa) as sort of a birthday gift since she didn't know what else to give him. Also, I think she was worried she'd never get a chance too because of the upcoming war.

Another interesting quote from book 6:

"There isn't anyone I want to invite," mumbled Harry, who was still trying not to think about Ginny any more than he could help, despite the fact that she kept cropping up in his dreams in ways that made him devoutly thankful that Ron could not perform Legilimency."

Ginny is 16, Harry is 17. . .to bring up the sex card under the circumstances. . . .Dumbledore dies in front of Harry; Harry knowing that he must kill or be killed; ect. . . .is a intellectually lazy argument.

No, Harry didn't have sex with Ginny. . . they haven't even thought about it.

If you want to talk about something creepy, let's discusss Ron's obsessive behavior with regard to Ginny. . . he understood the entire "breakup" at the end of HBP, and yet he acts like some jilted suitor when he "catches" Harry kissing Ginny. That was the most uncomfortable scene in the entire book. . . very creepy. . ..

I wasn't saying they did have sex, only that it seemed to me that Ginny was intending to go in that direction. I only suggested that it was possible that they did something more than kissing, especially during the "happy hour at the lake." Also, with Ron's reaction perhaps there was something more going on, like some petting, I mean that reaction was like something out of Scarface (previous to the murder).

Yeah, with Mrs. Weasley flitting around and all of the house guests coming and going at will, Ginny and Harry would have had sex if Ron hadn't walked in???? Do you seriously believe that?

The reaction of Harry and Ginny(having someone walk in on them as they were kissing. . . ) was absolutely natural. . .of course they were embarrassed.. . . .the problem in the entire scene was Ron. . . what was Ron bursting into Ginny's room for? Did he believe she was in danger? Is it his habit of bursting into his 16-year-old sister's bedroom? That is a little creepy.

In this entire series Ron's behavior towards Ginny has been very unnerving. . . all brothers are protective, but Ron's behavior can only be classified as deviant and unatural. . .

Very creepy. .

FYI, the discussion was focused on the birthday kiss episode prior to B/F wedding. Unless you are somehow saying that Ginny's pregnancy took 16 years, you contribution is neither relevant or timely; Come on, think before posting such a nonsensical thought.

Have a great day.

OK, let's put this entire thing on a FACTUAL basis. JKR's own website puts Dumbledore's death as 1996. This means the DH story takes place in 1997.

If this is true . . . and it MUST be, as JKR posted this herself, then the entire "epilogue" is nothing but a dream sequence; to wit:

During Harry's final thought's prior to the "epilogue" he is thinking about how great it will be to get into his 4 poster in the Gryffindor tower and get some sleep. . .. then we get this "epilogue" nonsense. . . 19 years later, which is just not a realistic possibility, because as everyone MUST agree, if you add 19 years onto when Harry defeats Voldemort(1997), you get 2016 . . . and since it is only 2007 right now, then anything being written about events taking place in 2016 has to be a want, wish or a dream. . . it can be a lot of things, but it can't be real. . .I submit the agreed upon time sequence published by JKR herself, proves the "epilogue" is not real, and is intended to be a dream that takes place after Harry gets into his 4 poster in the Gryffidor tower-just as the King's Cross chapter is meant to be a dialogue within Harry's subconscious mind, so is the "epilogue". It's a dream and none of it is really possible. . .does anyone really believe Ron and his 12 step book method of hooking Hermione would possibly work? Come on, she's the greatest witch of her generation and he's a verbal abusing oaf. . .who is nothing but wizarding trash (I imagine that 19 years from the end of the book Ron will either be dead, in Azkaban or floating around Diagon Alley in the mold of Mundungus Fletcher. ...

So, no Ginny didn't marry Harry, and the book proves it.

How can any of you say something happened in 2016, when it is 2007?. . . I think you have been talking to Trelawney too much. . .

Huntington,

I'm sorry to break this to you, but Harry Potter isn't real (and neither is Santa in case you were wondering).

Harry Potter is fiction, which means that we don't have to 'wait and see' if Ginny and Harry get married, because they aren't real people.

J.K Rowling made them up, thus she can also make up their future, and decide NOW what will happen to them.

Therefore we don't have to wait 19 years to find out 'the truth' because itis all fiction, and not happening in real time, but in J.K's head.

Hope this has cleared the line between reality and imagination up for you.

p.s. Ron is not "wizarding trash" unless I've been reading a very different set of books to you.

p.p.s. Have you never heard of the old adage "opposite's attract"?

Bob's my friend, he sits in a pink fluffy chair, and has no discernible qualities aside from the fact that he resides in the comfort of my childhood musings.
