Love Potions : A theory

Love potions have been mentioned through out the series ever since CoS. And especially in HBP did they play a very significant role. I postulate that Lily and Severus were indeed in luve. But, James luved Lily, too. And did not want his enemy to have his girl. Could James have slipped Lily a luve potion in the beginning ? And after it wore off Lily was starting to feel luve towards James ?
Harry takes a girl he doesn't want to take to the Yule ball/Did Lily marry a boy she didn't want to
marry in the beginning ?
Harry has something stolen from him/Did Severus Snape have a girl stolen from him?
Harry had to face dragons, creatures of the deep, and other mystical, magickal creatures/ Severus Snape had to face Marauders and Werewolves
Harry watched Cedric Diggory die as well as see his Godfather, Sirius fall through the veil/Did Severus Snape watch Lily die ?
What are your opinions upon this ?

Are we comparing similiarities(sp?) between Harry and Snape or are we discussing the love potions?
Personally I don't really see many things that they both have in common, theyre very different people.
J.K wasn't really that specific on how exactly Lily went from hating James to loving James. I think all she has said on the matter is that he matured greatly as he got older, became a better person, thats what persuaded Lily to change her mind about him. I dont think love potions were involved at all, he couldn't of stooped that low.
And guys, stop posting in caps like that.
