What do you think will come of our dear ol' Professor Snape? The question is: What bloody side is he on? Should we take Dumbledores word for it or is it possible that Snape somehow tricked Dumbledore. It's possible that Snape did go on the good side (I shall call this team "White Hats"), but has changed is mind and decided to go back the Black Hats.
I don't really know. It's a thinker. I do think that Snape, in the end, will be on the Black Hats side.
I will like all theories you post in this thread to be as canon as possible. It's okay to be wrong, but don't jump into fanon lane. I also insist that you guys read the theories at the North Tower (by Maline Freden) at Mugglenet.com. Alot insight there about Snape. Beware though, some of those editorials are too fanon (#11), but #19, #34, and #36 are worth looking at. There's also the Underground Lake by Brandom Ford (I love his editorials). Go to Red-Hen. Those editorials are awesome. At the near bottom of the page is "Man on Tight Rope" includes 8 great editorials about Snape.

Heero why don't you write some editorials for this site? If they are good enough I could feature them in "The Pensive".

Well, I think JKR is trying to trick us by saying Dumbledore thinks he's good now, so I think Snape in the end will be on the White Hats (by no other choice) but ultimatley, he is on the Black Hats.

I'd think about that, Danilo. If I wrote a good editorial, it might boosr my self-esteem a little.
I think he's been on the good side and he'll continually be a White Hat till book 6, where he turns back to the Black Hats for a reason yet to be known, cause we don't know why he switched sides in the first place. Snape may have proven himself a White Hat so far, but Jo said not to get too fond of him.

I am going to have to disagree with you guys, I have to say that I think that Snape is and will always be on the good side. I think he will actually come very close to killing Voldemort his very self. He seems to have proven to Dumbledore that he is good and I doubt he would be able to trick him, I think that he will also save Harry's life yet again. Maybe he would be able to disguise himself on Voldemort's side and then right when Voldemort is about to kill Harry for good, Snape does something to Voldemort in some way. Well thats my point-of-view, it sounds kind of farfetched, but who cares, its just harmless thoughts.

Well Snape has already proven his loyalties in my eyes (since the first book). I doubt that he will ever return to the "dark side", however that doesn't keep him from being a "greasy git"!

The question here is, is AD a better legilimens then Snape an Occlumens?

Okay, last time I checked this wasn't a poll...It makes my trying to make a mature debate (hence, I wanted theories posted on this thread to have atleast little canon evidense) into childish fight. Those options also don't have anything to do with this thread. I request that the poll is removed.
I think since Albus is way older than Snape; it's safe to assume that Albus was a legimens before Snape was even born. Resulting in Albus having a lot of practice and expirence. Albus can see right through Snape like glass. Since, I think that Darth Snape is going to go back the Dark Side. It's possible that Albus knows the reason that Snape might go back to the Black Hats. It's probably the same reason why he won't let Snape have the DADA job.

I think my brother was messing around with my account; he tried to make himself an auror on Hogwarts Live. I locked him out of my computer though and I put a password on my screensaver.

Danilo, I know how you feel. I come from a family of 9. It was just yesterday, when my mom and I were at Home Depot and I was trying to talk her into get me a lock for my door, so when I leave house, I can keep more my door locked. She wouldn't go for it.

That sounds like a good idea.
I need a really thick fire-proof steel lock.

In PS Professor Severus Snape saves Harry from falling off his broomstick. In CoS he gets Draco Malfoy to attack him and winds up saving him from the snake that Professor Lockhart managed to piss off by sending it up into the air. In PoA Severus saves Harry's and Ron's and Hermione's lives from the werewolf version of Professor Remus Lupin. In GoF he is with the Headmaster and Professor McGanagall who come and rescue Harry from the evil clutches of Barty Crouch jr. In OOTP Severus does alert the Order and the Headmaster to find Harry at the DoM. In HBP Severus only blocks all the spells that Harry fires at him.
' “ Blocked again, and again, and again, until you learn to keep your mouth shut, and your mind closed, Potter! ” Sneered Snape, deflecting the curse once more.' HBP Here he is clearly giving Harry directions in defending himself against the Dark Idiot ( aka Lord Voldemort ) while he is fleeing the scene where he is percieved as a Deatheater.
If a person keeps saving someone over and over again and even giving that person instructions on how to fight their opponent, would you consider them on the side of right and light or on the side of dark and Death ?

Well Snape is one of my favorite characters as far as actually lines from the books go. Also, Alan Rickman is one of my favorite actors. However, I guess I still can't get over Snape's mistreatment of Harry just because of what his father did.I guess what makes Snape's character so amazing is that you want to feel sorry for him, but you just can't, cause you see this all from Harry's perspective, which I why I still say Snape is a greasy ol' git, be he good or bad.

I think Snape(even though i dont like him) will end up being on the Light's side. Dumbledore begged Snape to kill him(more than once if i remember right)
If you are having a bad day and everyone is getting on your nerves, remember it takes 42 muscles to frown but only 4 to pull the trigger on a decent sniper rifle.

I think Snape killed Dumbledore on Dumbledore's orders. It was all planed, and Dumbledore froze Harry so that the scene would have a witness. Dumbledore is not afraid of death, we find this in SS. I think Snape is a good guy. But that doesn't stop him from being a Git.

I believe that Snape killed Dumbledore on either Dumbledore's orders or on his vow to protect Draco. Dumbledore had been intimidating Draco (possibly threatening his protection?)
